~Haunted Houses and Monsters~
A scream echoed throughout the rock fortress. Electric sparks flickered as a man overlooked from a balcony. He wore a lab coat and black gloves. Thick black goggles covered his eyes as he smiled widely at the screaming withering creature below. He was tall. The man was at least six feet or so. He tapped his black booted foot on the ground as if waiting patiently for something to happen. One of the assistants below looked up at him with a question in his eyes. The man nodded and the assistant went back to work. The creature screamed in pain.
“Just hold on one more minute. It will all be over soon,” the man smiled.
He bit his lip to contain himself. To him, the creature below was a work of art and it was only moments from completion.
“We have completed the last procedure, Doctor,” one of the assistants said.
The Doctor walked down some steps and walked over to slab where the creature lay breathing heav

Fang walked around the hallways of the school. He looked at the sheet of paper in his hand that read his locker and his locker combination. Fang looked around. Another school. His parents just moved in to town to look for jobs. It was the fifth move in the past year. Fang had basically given up learning everyone’s name since the chances were he wasn’t going to stay long enough to be friends with anyone.
He found his locker and put his stuff inside. Somehow he managed to find his first class too: Mr. Undertaker’s Phycology class. Fang looked at the door and sighed. This was the beginning of the end.
Fang walked in. Everyone seemed to know each other and were talking to loudly to one another. The teacher sat at the front desk looking down at some papers. His long grey hair nearly reached the floor. Another adult sat at the computer typing furiously at the keyboard. His h

After the Fall
Zara looked out the window thought there was nothing much to see. The sun looked hazy through the dirt and ash that hung in the air. On the street there wasn’t a soul. There were only broken devastated buildings for miles around. The Tower, destroyed, loomed in the distance. She sighed.
It had been about a month since the say the New Order leveled the Island. The Inhibitors were scattered everywhere preventing the Others that lived on the Island from using their powers. That meant that even Zara couldn’t do as much as light a candle.
Zara looked back into her temporary room. The room was mostly empty, looted by someone after the Tower fell. There was a tattered backpack that Zara managed to find in the rubble. Beside the bag were her two katana. What was noticeably absent from the room were her friends. She was separated by her team and had no idea where they were or any idea of where whey might be.
A gunshot rang through th

Three Years in the Future
“Good morning, Citizens of the New Order. It is six in the morning; the hour of waking is now. The weather is expected to be a brisk 65° today. A slight breeze is expected to come through the area. Remember: parents make sure you get to work by nine-o-clock or you will be punished. And children 18 years and younger get to school by seven-o-clock or you too shall be punished. It is as Scar wishes. All hail Scar, the ruler of us all…”
A girl sat up in bed. She glanced at a calendar for a moment then stepped out of bed. The radio continued talking about the great ruler Scar but the girl seemed disinterested. She had heard the same things over and over again for a year now since the Great Fall of Humanity.
The girl’s room was simple. There was a bed in the back corner and a nightstand beside it. A closet stood at the base of the bed and a small desk sat under a small window. Hazy light filtered through
